for pure emotion, this was one of the best shows ever:

The audience captures it; again, more for historical purposes than having THE show - still get goosebumps recalling the Touch and Candyman:

i sampled crs from 5/3 cal expo and it sounds like the dead are "on", i'm just having a hard time with jerry's voice in this era, it's new to me, as i've lived in the 68-78 time warp for far too long. hell, i'm just gettin into the 80's to be honest. some deep vast oceans of shows i have to get through, i'm starting to get into it though. the 90's, shit, might never really get to that till 2024 AT THis point, if i'm lucky. i never had the pleasure of seeing the dead, i was too young, they played their last show when i was 14, and it would take two more years before i got turned on to them anyway. it sucks, but at least i can hear what i missed out on all those years. i'm rambling here, sorry.

no apologies necessary. in a way, i think your "ears" have an advantage because they're not colored by your memories. the december 86 show i linked would never get listed as a 'great' show, but for me, the roar of the crowd evokes a memory of being there. that said, i'd switch the 8 and the 6 for a year of fun (that's william tell's cue)
